(Tuesday, 29 July 2025) I am pleased to share with you the remarkable progress we have made since the launch of our ICARE platform on 16th June 2025. This milestone marked the beginning of a new era in how we serve our members and employers, anchored on digital innovation, efficiency, and customer-centric service delivery.
It has been six weeks since the rollout, and we have recorded impressive progress, albeit with some teething issues that our team is actively addressing. I am delighted to state that as of 28th July 2025, a total of 664,281 new user profiles had been created on the platform, demonstrating overwhelming public confidence in the new system. Among these, 7,731 are new member accounts and 1,237 are new employer accounts that have been successfully registered, while 50,722 existing employer accounts have been seamlessly mapped to registered users, ensuring continuity and ease of access to our services.
In terms of service delivery, ICARE has already facilitated the successful processing and payment of 3,368 Pre-retirement lumpsum claims, a testament to the system’s capability in enhancing operational efficiency and accelerating claims processing timelines.
These achievements reflect our collective commitment to modernising social security administration in Zambia. We remain dedicated to ensuring that every employer and member enjoys a simplified, transparent, and responsive service experience.
I extend my sincere appreciation to all stakeholders for their support and engagement throughout this transition. Let us continue to work together to make ICARE a true enabler of social protection for all.
Thank you.
