NAPSA, on the 26th of July joined hands with the Government, through the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts, and the National Arts Council, to support our vibrant arts community. Recognizing the pivotal role Arts play in preserving and promoting our culture, telling our stories, and shaping our national identity, the Authority decided to support the arts by way of donating K400,000 towards the hosting of the National Arts festival.
Despite the value of the arts, individuals working in industry often face challenges, especially concerning healthcare, maternity, and post-retirement income. NAPSA, believes in the power of the arts to transform lives and foster a deeper appreciation of our shared heritage and the natural world around us. Therefore, it is imperative that this sector receives the support it deserves.
As a social security institution, NAPSA is committed to making social security, a fundamental right for all, accessible to everyone, including our talented artists. With this driving force, we are extending social security coverage to those in the arts sector. Through NAPSA’s product offerings, artists can enjoy various benefits, including access to credit, maternity benefits, retirement, survivors, and invalidity benefits. These benefits are crucial for their well-being and financial security, allowing them to focus on their craft without worrying about their future.
In line with its commitment, NAPSA is delighted to announce a contribution of K400,000 in cash to support the hosting of the 2024 National Arts Festival, which will take place in August. This contribution aligns with the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the National Arts Council, to collaborate in promoting the development of art in the country and protecting artists against some of the challenges they face in their careers. It is NAPSAs hope that this contribution positively impacts the lives of thousands of artists in the country through the National Arts Festival.
NAPSA is committed to working with the National Arts Council to support the growth of the arts sector and ensure that artists are not overlooked regarding social security, for their benefit and the well-being of their families.
