NAPSA GIVES TO MONGU FEMALE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

  In its continued recognition and support for women’s rights, NAPSA has rendered a helping hand to women serving their time at Mongu Female Correctional Facility with a donation of assorted household essentials valued at K80,000. The donation marked the celebration of the 2025 International Women’s Day. The donated items included cooking pots, mealie meal, rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, washing powder, bathing soap and other household cleaning supplies. Handing over the donation on behalf of NAPSA, Regional Manager-South, Simuwana Mudenda, underscored the Authority’s commitment to investing in community welfare to uplift and give hope to the vulnerable. He encouraged the inmates to remain steadfast. Officer in Charge, Mrs. Grace Kabungo expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation, emphasizing its alignment with the 2025 International Women’s Day theme: “For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” She noted that the support directly contributed to the dignity and empowerment of women inmates by addressing their fundamental needs. The Mongu Female Correctional Facility currently houses 23 inmates and one circumstantial child, who has since been adopted by the Officer in Charge.
