EQUALIZE – A CALL TO ACTION

The “Equalize” slogan is a prompt for all of us to work for the proven practical actions needed to address inequalities and help end AIDS.

Recognizing the importance of raising awareness on HIV/AID and other issues related to prevention and treatment of it, the NAPSA yesterday united forces with the rest of the nation in a match past in commemoration of World Aids Day under the theme “Equalize! Closing the Gaps”.

Flagging off the match past from Zesco Headquarters, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Gary Nkombo, MP, emphasised that the world would struggle to end HIV/AIDS if there was no equality in the fight.

And speaking in a speech read on his behalf by the Minister of Education, Hon. Douglas Syakalima, MP, at Mulungushi international Conference Centre, President Hakainde Hichilema called for commitment by all players to close the inequality gaps that are continuing to fuel new HIV infections and causing premature deaths. He stated that the Government was committed to achieving national, regional and global goals of ending HIV/AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
