Fire Incident at Mosi-Oa-Tunya Building in Livingstone

Yesterday, 26th July 2023, at approximately 21:20, a fire incident was reported at the Mosi-Oa-Tunya building in Livingstone. The fire was localised to one room, 309, on the 3rd floor, Eastern Wing (New Wing). The affected room is occupied by a tenant. Therefore, no NAPSA documents or information was affected in the incident.

The fire brigade was promptly notified and arrived at the scene in less than 10 minutes.

It took less than one hour for the fire brigade, assisted by the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) to successfully contain the fire.

We are glad and relieved to report that there were no casualties in the incident.

Investigations have been instituted to determine the cause of the fire and the extent and cost of the damage.

We would like to express our gratitude to the fire brigade, ZAF and all those who assisted for responding swiftly to the incident and stopping the fire before it could spread and cause more damage.

We will keep the public informed of any new developments with regard to this incident.
